This was my first time attending GIA live surgery course and I absolutely loved it. I have taken Dr. Kim’s implant lectures in New Jersey before and was scheduled to leave to Mexico in 2020 but due to the pandemic I had to wait a whole year for this. It was a long wait but it was well worth it.

From day 1, everything went smoothly. All the attendees met at San Diego Airport and took a ride to Tijuana, Mexico which was provided by the course. Without any time wasted, once finished with dinner, we had basic review course along with hands on model course and went over suture techniques. 

The attendees varied in the degree of experience from zero implant experience to attendees that have placed over 100 implants. I really liked how the course could accommodate different comfort levels for the attendees. 

My hope was that I would be more exposed to immediate placements and sinus lifts. I am quite pleased on what I was able to do. I placed 13 implants in total with about half of them being immediate placements and I was able to do two sinus lifts with one of them being a lateral window technique. More importantly, Dr. Kim and his faculty ensure that you deliver the best treatments possible for the patients. I felt pretty confident doing the procedures under the guidance of the faculty. 

Overall, I would give this course a perfect score and I am planning on taking this course again in the near future. I was able to learn and meet lifelong friends/colleagues. You can’t ask for more!
