The 13th Live Surgery course in Mexico, held from February 24th to February 28th, 2022, marked yet another successful chapter. This course welcomed 16 enthusiastic participants, including 13 from the USA, 2 from Canada, and 1 from Korea. As with previous courses, this one maintained its reputation as a beginner-friendly course, ensuring all participants had the opportunity to learn and grow. To provide essential preparation for the upcoming implant surgeries, especially for newcomers, the course offered an optional free pre-clinical hands-on training session. Held on the Thursday before the implant surgeries, this session allowed participants to familiarize themselves with implant kits and brush up on proper suture techniques on typodonts. The session spanned from 2 PM to 11 PM, ensuring ample time for skill development.

Throughout the course, participants were under the direct supervision of 11 experienced faculty members, which included 1 oral surgeon and 1 periodontist. Together, they successfully placed a total of 162 implants and conducted a range of procedures, from single and multiple implants within the same quadrant to immediate implant placements, mini implants for replacing lower anterior teeth, guided bone regeneration, and wisdom teeth extractions. Impressively, a total of 42 wisdom teeth were extracted, and participants were delighted by the ease, simplicity, safety, and efficiency of these extractions.

Amidst the busy schedule of lectures and surgeries, the course ensured that participants could savor delicious authentic Mexican food and drinks, adding a delightful touch to the educational experience. Despite the ongoing challenges posed by the Covid pandemic, all lectures and implant surgeries were conducted with the utmost safety measures in place, reaffirming the course's commitment to providing a secure and enriching environment for all participants.
