 The 12th Live Surgery course in Mexico, held from January 28th to January 31st, 2022, marked another successful milestone. This course welcomed 16 enthusiastic participants, including 12 from the USA, 3 from Canada, and 1 from Korea. The diversity of backgrounds and ethnicities among the participants showcased the course's inclusivity, demonstrating its open-door policy to all. To ensure that participants were well-prepared for the implant surgeries, especially for those new to the procedures, the course offered an optional free pre-clinical hands-on training session. This session, held on the Thursday before the implant surgeries, provided participants with valuable experience in handling implant kits and reviewing proper suture techniques on typodonts, spanning from 2 PM to 11 PM.

Throughout the course, participants were under the direct supervision of 10 experienced faculty members, including 1 oral surgeon and 2 periodontists. Together, they successfully placed a total of 152 implants and performed a variety of procedures, such as single and multiple implants within the same quadrant, immediate implant placements, mini implants for replacing lower anterior teeth, guided bone regeneration, and wisdom teeth extractions. Impressively, a total of 33 wisdom teeth were extracted, and participants were pleasantly surprised by the ease, simplicity, safety, and efficiency of these extractions. Amidst the busy schedule of lectures and surgeries, the course ensured that participants had the opportunity to savor delicious authentic Mexican food and drinks. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing Covid pandemic, all lectures and implant surgeries were conducted with the utmost safety measures in place, allowing participants to engage in a highly educational and satisfying experience.
